STUDIES ON TOTAL SERUM CHOLESTEROL CONCENTRATION IN FAT INTAKE. AND CHILDREN AND IT¢¥S RELATION TO DIETARY
äÌóãìé/Ahn, Chang-Il
Abstract
The average total serum cholesterol concentration is 152.726.9 mg/dl, 338.4Z2.8mg/dl, 137.922.4 mg/dl and 139.918.1 mg/dl and the average of daily dietary, fat intake is 14.7 .cal%, 6.2 cal/ 6.0 cal/ and 7.0 cal/ in infants, preschool age group, school age group and adolescent age group respectively.
The total serum cholesterol level in infants shows the highest concentration in all groups, on the other hand the levels in the groups after preschool period are generally low and show the almost same oomcentration regardless to their age groups. At the same time the daily dietary fat intake in infant is higher than in the other groups and the average dietary fat intakes in the groups after preschool period are almost same level.
The average total serum cholesterol ooncentration of unbilical cord blood, which was collected during the parturient period, is 76.11.4 mg/dl and it was significantly low.
Such evidences in this study suggestive of t¢¥,e total serum choresterol in infants and children is closely related with the dietary fat intake rather than with age.
